Rachel Eden Baumann (she/her) is a poet, writer, magazine editor, and interdisciplinary artist who lives in the Deep Cove area of North Vancouver on the beautiful, unceded territory of the Tsleil Waututh Nation.

Her education began in North Vancouver and continued across Burrard Inlet to Simon Fraser University on top of Burnaby Mountain. She studied English, Humanities, and Communications at SFU in the 2000s. Since 2021, she has worked in a variety of roles for The Wild Bird Trust of BC, an Indigenous-led conservation non-profit that protects wild birds and restores the land in and around Maplewood Flats and Burrard Inlet. She and the team also publish Wingspan Magazine: The Voice for Birding, Conservation, and Reconciliation. Since 2026, she has been the editorial assistant of the magazine, as well as a regular contributor. Rachel is currently working on a manuscript that combines poetry and prose. It focuses her lens on the Tsleil-Waututh map of their territory between the Seymour River  and all the way up the Inlet to the Indian River Watershed. It is both autobiographical as well as historical in its tracing of the land and water and the community connections with Tsleil Waututh leaders and knowledge holders that informed her work at Maplewood Flats which bring her closer and in a more reciprocal relationship with the land.
